We have an urgent plea for all Tennessee parents. The TN House Joint Resolution 133, “Safer Internet for Children” is in jeopardy unless parents step up to the plate to offer their support. This resolution would make provision for Internet Service Providers to block pornography before the wifi signal gets into our homes, but lobbyists for the ISPs are trying to kill this legislation. In the next couple of days, we need as many parents as possible to call and email Rep. John DeBerry’s office to ask him to move the legislation forward.
Phone Call:
Offices are accustomed to these kinds of calls, and they work! Call their office at (615) 741-2239 and say the following:
I’m calling to share my support for House Joint Resolution 133. This resolution is a first step needed for Tennessee and the U.S. to protect children from unwanted and harmful pornography. I’m requesting that you continue to move this resolution forward. Could you share this message with the Representative?
Email:
Emails will go straight to the inbox of the legislator, and to their assistant. These are very effective and almost always read and taken into consideration. Copy and paste the following to rep.john.deberry@capitol.tn.gov:
Hello Representative DeBerry,
I’d like to share my support for House Joint Resolution 133. This resolution is a first step needed for Tennessee and the U.S. to protect children from unwanted and harmful pornography. I’m requesting that you continue to move this resolution forward as Tennessee and the U.S. need real solutions to this harmful and pervasive issue that’s harming and entrapping children all over the country. Nothing can destroy and family faster than Internet pornography.
