Landmark cases deliver verdicts that could change everything.

THE FIRST VERDICT: New Mexico v. Meta

3.24.26

Attorney General Raul Torrez of NM led the charge in this first-ever civil lawsuit against Meta, claiming that they knowingly harmed children by not protecting them from predation and sexual exploitation. This was a violation of the state's consumer protection laws.

“Meta executives knew their products harmed children, disregarded warnings from their own employees, and lied to the public about what they knew. Today the jury joined families, educators, and child safety experts in saying enough is enough.”

Meta was ordered to pay $375 Million in fines, and this May, a judge will determine if they “created a public nuisance” and what changes or retribution would be required. (Such as the warning labels, public programs, and education Big Tobacco had to pay for.)

40 other state attorneys general are also suing.

THE SECOND VERDICT:  Kaylee v. Meta & YouTube

3.25.26

A jury ruled today that Meta & YouTube were liable for harming 20-year-old Kaylee by creating platforms that purposely fueled addiction for the sake of profit, knowingly harming millions of children and failing to adequately warn children of these harms. (Kaylee started using YouTube at 6 and Instagram at 9).

Kaylee’s case was picked to go first in this consolidated legal action, suing Meta, TikTok, Snap, and Google (YouTube). TikTok and Snap settled before the trial began over 7 weeks ago. Kaylee was awarded $6 Million in damages and settled for an undisclosed amount with TikTok and Snap.

Thousands of family lawsuits still remain. Plus up to 1000 school district cases, and the 40 state attorneys general that are suing.

Two seismic victories in two days. More than we could ask for.

A special shoutout to Mark Lanier, the attorney who represented Kaylee and who walks in Godly wisdom by the power of the Holy Spirit. Absolute legend. His YouTube profile (ironic) called “Biblical Literacy” is awesome

And to Nicki Petrossi from Scrolling to Death for being in the courtroom every day and providing better coverage than any legacy media outlet. More evidence that mama bears have absolutely changed the momentum in this fight!
